Premià de Mar is a tourist resort with a past as a fishing port. A new and larger port was built out from the former one which used to suffer constant silting up by sand. Access is easy, but care should be taken with possi- ble sandbanks at the entrance. The club has a restaurant, bar and 2 swimming pools (one for children). The transformation was to include relocation of the clubhouse, as well as increasing the number of berths and adding an area of entertainment, full servic- es and shops. The full project has not yet been carried out, so that services here are rather limited. The sanctuary of the Verge de la Cisa, one of the most famous places of pilgrimage in Spain where the Gothic image of the Verge Bruna (Dark Virgin) is worshipped, is located between Premià de Mar and Vilassar de Mar.
