Port Segur-Calafell Marina - Marina Berths / Moorings
Welcome Port Segur-Calafell MarinaThe old port at Segur de Calafell, built thir- ty years ago out on the end of a cause way, needed dredging every year and had become obsolete. It has been completely rebuilt and in June 2005 the new port complex was opened, offering 525 berths to 20 metres as well as a modern and fully equipped boatyard with a 50-ton travel lift and a ‘duck’s beak’ crane suitable for step- ping masts as well as lifting smaller boats, the first of its kind in Catalunya. The port complex includes a large and attractive area of commercial premises and leisure activities, and as from summer 2006 will offer dry-stack storage for smaller motor launches. Part of the new port is dedicat- ed to the fishing fleet, which due to the impracticability of the old port, normalily moors at Vilanova i la Geltrú, although locals hope that the new port will mean the return of the fishing fleet and the recuper ation of the town’s traditions.
